This year, Pune recorded a total of 719 mm rainfall, which the same is 172.6 mm in excess of the normal rain. Last Friday, India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that cloudy weather conditions will continue to prevail for the next few days if not mild showers. Fortunately, this year, Pune has been highly blessed by the Rain God. The city recorded its highest rainfall in the month of September for a span of 24 hours on the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi. However since the last 2-3 days, Puneites have been dealing with scorching heat.
Even though the weather gets pleasant in the evenings, the city is being graced more by the Sun now rather than the usual drizzles. It seems like the south-west monsoon season is finally coming to an end. (Photographs by Asavari Sharma).
