ARTHUR’S Theme Restaurant is a small European bistro located in the busy lane no. 6 of Koregaon Park. Despite the sudden rise of eateries in that area, Arthur’s Theme has made a name for itself for a very simple reason – its highly authentic menu. Their menu has been carefully picked up from different parts of Central Europe. Ranging from chicken to prawns to duck, it’s a savoury delight that food lovers shouldn’t miss.
After carefully scanning the entire menu (that featured not only exotic descriptions of the dishes but even exotic titles, named after famous figures from medieval history), we decided to treat ourselves to chicken and lamb. We first ordered ‘Beatrix’ that offered a chicken fillet stuffed heartily with mushrooms and olives.
Drowned in a delicious olive sauce, stylishly cut boiled carrots and cauliflower added a nice variety to the dish. The chicken was cooked to a perfect al dente. Lush and creamy, it melted quite wonderfully in our mouths and the entire plate was wiped clean in seconds.
The next dish we tried was King Edward II – perfectly cooked lamb in a Marsala wine sauce on a bed of mashed potatoes. Succulent and sweet, every morsel of the lamb was fabulously cooked and extremely pleasing to the palate. The sweet taste of the lamb deserves a special mention as it resulted in a cosmic explosion of flavours in the mouth that lingered on till the end.
Arthur’s Theme also offers a variety of starters, soups and salads. It has a wide range of sinful desserts like crepes, mousse, soufflés, tiramisu and cheesecakes.
The restaurant also boasts of a well stocked bar, offering wines from around the world and cocktails that are concocted to elevate the culinary experience. The ambience, though not outstanding, is cozy and plush that adds to the experience of enjoying a meal.
This place maybe a little heavy on the pocket but it certainly guarantees the food aficionados the culinary experience of a lifetime!
